Girls' Generation, SHINee, CNBLUE, B2ST, EXO and more for 28th Golden Disk Awards

JTBC revealed that Girls' Generation Taeyeon and Tiffany, SHINee's Minho, Beast's Doojoon, CNBLUE's Yonghwa, Oh Sang Jin will be the MCs for 28th Golden Disk Awards.

The 28th Golden Disk Awards (GDA) will be held on January 16th at Kyunghee University’s Grand Peace Palace.

Artists who shone the brightest in 2013 have been called to arms. Names in the hat include Girls’ Generation, Infinite, EXO, Beast, CNBlue, B1A4, SHINee, Sistar, 2NE1, 4Minute, Davichi, A Pink, Roy Kim and Crayon Pop.

The awards show consists of 2 parts. Part 1 will be hosted by Minho, Doojoon, Yonghwa while part 2 for Taeyeon, Tiffany and Oh Sang Jin. Since all of them have experiences in MC-ing before so they are expected to conduct smoothly throughout the show.

According to a representative, the idol stars won’t just be singing their own songs, they’ll also be performing some of the greatest GDA Daesang songs of all time. Legendary rock band Deulgukhwa will receive the Executive Committee Special Award. Deulgukhwa vocalist Jeon In Kwon will be taking part in the GDA performances.

A representative of the GDA committee stated, “The award ceremony will be broadcast live on JTBC on January 16 from 5:00 PM and last for about 4 hours.

The GDAs are largely based on album sales and digital sales, except for the Most Popular Star Award. Awards are divided into GDA Album (1 Daesang and 8 Bonsangs) and GDA Song (1 Daesang and 8 Bonsangs) categories. 2-3 teams of artists will receive the New Rising Star.
