JYP Entertainment reveals New Male Group “GOT7″ to Debut January 16!

The new information on its upcoming boy group, JYP Entertainment has finally revealed the name and some specific details of its highly-anticipated new team.

The new boy group, seven in number, is named “GOT7.” The members are from all over the world. GOT7 will be JYP’s first “hip-hop” group and will focus on “martial arts tricking” for its performance genre. This is expected to stand apart from senior group 2PM‘s “acrobatic” stage performances.

JYP Entertainment will start revealing the members of GOT7 starting January 3. The music video will come out January 5. GOT7 will hold its first debut stage January 16 on Mnet’s “M!Countdown,” and release its first mini album January 20th

‘2PM’이후 6년 만에 JYP가 배출하는 보이 그룹 GOT7은 7인의 다국적 멤버들로 구성돼있으며, 데뷔 전부터 해외 유명 음반사들로부터 러브콜을 받아, 해외 진출도 동시 기획 중에 있다.

GOT7은 JYP가 처음으로 선보이는 힙합 그룹으로 ‘마샬 아츠 트릭킹’이라는 장르를 특기로 하는 퍼포먼스팀이다. ‘마샬 아츠 트릭킹’은 무술의 요소들을 담은 동작을 바탕으로 한 화려한 기술로 선배 그룹 ‘2PM’이 선보였던 ‘아크로바틱’과는 다른 발차기와 터닝 동작 등 무술적 요소와 비보빙의 스타일을 접목시킨 장르다.

JYP 엔터테인먼트는 오는 3일부터 ‘GOT7’의 멤버들을 공개할 예정이며, 15일 뮤직비디오 공개, 16일 엠넷 '엠카운트다운' 데뷔 무대, 20일 첫 미니앨범 발매에 나선다.
