YG Entertainment denies rampant cover up speculations on Seungri’s car accident

                       

YG Entertainment makes another comment on Seungri’s recent car accident after speculations accusing the agency of a cover-up became rampant online.

On the early hours of September 12th, Seungri was involved in a two-car collision, with Seungri’s car, a Porsche, hitting the Mercedes-Benz in the next lane. The car crashed in to the rail and flipped over. Seungri and the other driver immediately received treatments for their mild injuries and was immediately discharged.

YG Entertainment’s statement and police report confirm that Seungri was not intoxicated while driving, but is looking onto the case of overspeeding instead. The cause of the accident is still being investigated, with the party involved yet to be summoned by police.

Speculations arose when it was found that Seungri got off the ambulance while on its way to the hospital, citing a possible concealment from the agency. The incident raised rampant suspicions if this was an attempt to cover up the real cause of the accident.

In response to the speculations, YG Entertainment clarified that, there had been no cover up in the situation, as Seungri only transferred vehicles to join his manager who was following behind, en route to the hospital.

Seungri was initially discharged from the hospital after being treated for minor injuries, but it was reported later on today that he was admitted for thorough examination. It was found that the singer had a minor bleeding in his liver and will remain in hospital for a week.

He won’t be able to join YG Entertainment on their concert tour in Singapore.

용산경찰서 측 관계자는 12일 오전 티브이데일리에 "강변북로 일산방향으로 가는 반포대교 3차로에서 승리가 탄 차량이 지나가던 앞 차량을 추돌했다. 승리의 차량은 2차 충격으로 중앙 분리대를 들이받고 전복됐다"라며 "음주운전은 아니었고, 출석 일자를 조율한 뒤 소환 조사 할 예정"이라고 밝혔다.

이어 경찰 측은 승리가 119 차량을 타고 이동하는 도중 본인의 의사로 하차했기 때문에 부상 정도가 파악되지 않았다고 전했다. 이에 대해 승리의 소속사 YG 엔터테인먼트는 "승리는 큰 외상이 없는 상태다. 이후 다시 한 번 병원에서 제대로 검사를 받을 예정"이라며 승리의 상태에 대해 설명했다.

사건이 전해진 후 누리꾼들은 승리가 119 차량에서 중간에 내린 이유가 사건을 은폐하려는 시도가 아니었냐는 의혹을 제기했다.

이에 대해 YG 엔터테인먼트는 "은폐가 아니다. 119 차량에서 내린 후 바로 병원에 갔다고 한다. 뒤에 매니저 차량이 있어서 매니저 차량에 탑승해 병원에 간 것"이라고 해명했다.

승리가 추돌한 앞차량에서는 2명의 운전자가 경상을 입었다. 사고 원인과 과실 유무, 처벌 수위 등은 조사가 이뤄야 알겠지만 뒤에서 앞 차량을 추돌한 승리의 과실 쪽으로 무게가 실리고 있다.
