Weekly K-pop Music Chart 2014 -- October

Ailee’s “Don’t Touch Me” ran away from the competition in  fashion to become our new No. 1 song. This song won on Music Bank and M!Countdown last week and is also ranked closed to the top among other chart sources.

It scores nearly 100 points more than the second place song, Soyu and Urban Zakapa’s duet “The Space Between.” Last week’s No. 1, TaeTiSeo’s “Holler” fell two spots to No. 3. Congratulations to Ailee.

There are three new songs in the top 10 this week. Just below the top three we find two new songs. Moving up 11 spots to No. 4 is veteran male soloist Kim Dong Ryul’s “How I Am.” This song is the title track from his sixth album “Walking With,” his first full length album in more than six years.

Kim Dong Ryul wrote the song and lyrics himself, which is about a man who thinks about his past love. Although Kim Dong Ryul is not performing on music shows, “How I Am” won on SBS Inkigayo last week, and has also topped many independent charts. It is a dark horse to challenge for our top spot next week.

IU is back in the top 10 again as her new song “Sogyeokdong” moves up eight spots to No. 5 this week. This is a very special song for IU as she collaborates with legendary artist Seo Taiji for the very first time on this electronic and trap style pop song.

 IU’s female version of “Sogyeokdong” was released two weeks ahead of Seo Taiji’s male version, which is also the preview track of his ninth studio album “Quiet Night.” The two singers also have a duet version of this song. Which version do you like better?

Moving up nine spots to No. 8 is Juniel’s latest hit “I Think I’m In Love.” This is a mid-tempo song that shows the cute vocal of Juniel.
