Korean and Chinese idol group TimeZ makes successful debut
CJ E&M Korea and Super Jet Entertainment China′s collaborative group TimeZ debuted through the October 18 broadcast of Mnet′s M Countdown.
The group′s debut single, released in both Korea and China at the same time that day, proved, along with the group′s performance, that the group was set for greatness. It rose as high as no. 43 on Mnet′s live chart, marking an unprecedented feat of making it into the top 50 as a song sung in another language.
TimeZ sang on M Countdown its new single, a Chinese K-Pop-style song. Its easy and addictive melody seemed to have appealed to many in the audience, and FT Island′s Lee Hong Gi, MC of the show, danced along with the song, gathering more interest to the group.
TimeZ is comprised of four Chinese members and two Korean members, and released a Chinese song in Korea in order to aim for the global market at the same time it promotes in Korea. The debut single released this day is titled Idol ManManSae, and is a bouncy dance piece that gives off TimeZ′s brand of bright energy.
TimeZ told enews through its agency, "We′ve prepared for this performance for a long time, so we′re very happy. We were worried about singing in Chinese on a Korean stage, but it made us more determined to show off how unique we are through our performance. We hope you continue to look forward to our future activities."
Other than the individual teasers it released from October 8, the group hasn′t promoted at all until the most recent M Countdown performance, but already it has gathered more than 2,000 fans in its fan cafe.
